LightCam End User License Agreement

License terms for LightCam software, firmware, and app.

LightCam End User License Agreement

This agreement covers only the software, firmware, and companion app that power your LightCam. For all privacy and data handling rules, see our Privacy Policy.

You own the hardware

You own your LightCam device. We grant you a license to use the software that runs it.

License grant

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the LightCam software, firmware, and app solely with your own device for personal, non-commercial home use.

What you can and cannot do

You can

  • Use the software and app with your LightCam as intended
  • Install the app on your personal phones/tablets
  • Receive and install updates

You cannot

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the software
  • Copy, rent, sell, or sublicense it
  • Use it for any commercial purpose or surveillance service
  • Remove or alter copyright or trademark notices

Automatic updates

Firmware and app updates install automatically to improve security, fix bugs, and add features. You can disable non-critical updates in settings, but we strongly recommend keeping automatic security updates enabled.

Ownership of the software

We (or our licensors) own all rights to the software, firmware, and app. This license does not transfer ownership — it only allows you to use them as described.

Disclaimers

LightCam is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee it will detect every event, prevent every incident, or work perfectly in every condition. No security product can provide absolute protection.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your LightCam device (or the most recent 12 months of subscription fees, if higher). We are not responsible for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

Termination

You may stop using the software at any time. We may terminate this license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Entire agreement

This document, together with the separate Privacy Policy, constitutes the complete agreement between you and us.

This is not legal advice. We strongly recommend you have a lawyer review it.
